For Paula, my
other mother,
I am so happy
your family is coming in from Holland to join you in this 80th
birthday celebration. 80 years, wow! To think that I’ve known you for 33 of
those years is mind blowing. I am now older than you were when we first met. I
have many wonderful memories of times spent together. Do you remember all those
Super Boggle games we used to play in Beaconsfield? You catching me with my
hands under the table during dinner? Mokum’s tail? I remember the barbecues,
parties, and all those delicious
Indonesian meals you prepared for all of us. We always appreciated all
the work that went into this, and even more so now that we’re doing it
ourselves!
I have
respected you from day one, grown to love you, however much you have teased me,
and love you more still as the years have gone by. You are not my mother,
however I’ve always called you Mom. I am not your daughter, however you have
always made me feel loved as such. I have been blessed to have you in my
life all these years.
Happy 80th
birthday and may your celebration be spectacular!
All my love,
Patty
P.S. Brian
also sends his best wishes!
